Constantinus Pogonatus gold semissis, circa 668-685 AD, Byzantine, Sear 1161, 2.18-2.2 gms, 19 mm. The obverse shows, "D.N. CONSTANTINVS P.P. AV.", with a pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed, bust to the right. The reverse shows "VICTORIA AVGYS", (a couple of the letters I show as part of the reverse side legend are not exactly the same in shape as shown on the coin, but they are the closest approximation available on the keyboard as to what the shape looks like), with a cross set on a globe. On the obverse, the depression at the back of the head is just opposite of the raised, round globe on the reverse. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica or reproduction.
