    This coin is from a fresh group a Gold ’s we recently bought out of a local collection that’s been off the market for many years. This better date is really tough to find in MS65 condition. Only 567,500 were minted, many were melted down and never circulated. This is a popular and rare San Francisco Mint .
    A PCGS MS66 would cost you ,900-,500 easy. The MS65 offered today is a nice value play under current market conditions. You won’t find a better deal for this date
    Created by master sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the 1915-S Gold Saint Gaudens is the descendant of the Liberty Double Eagle which first entered circulation in 1850. The denomination was created as a means of exhausting an overage in gold supply due to the 1849 California Gold Rush. They were never intended for general use in commerce as the amount easily equated to a month's wage during the time of issue - making them impractical to carry as a coin. Instead, they were struck to monetize the surplus of gold and to be used exclusively in business transactions, largely between banks.
